It’s been 64 years since Wales made an appearance in the FIFA World Cup. They qualified this time around by defeating Ukraine 1-0 in the playoff finals. The man that scored the winning goal in that game was winger Gareth Bale.
He recently declared himself 100 percent fit for the World Cup in Qatar. A few weeks back on November 5, the player admitted he was not fully fit after scoring a crucial late goal in Los Angeles FC’s MLS Cup final triumph over Philadelphia Union.
When he asked if he could play three 90-minute games against the United States, Iran, and England in nine days. Bale replied, “Yeah, no problem. I’m fully fit and ready to go. If I need to play three 90s, I’ll play three 90s.”
Wales kick off their World Cup campaign against the USA on November 21 and Welsh fans will hope Bale can take them further than just the group stage.
