Isle of Men Scores the Lowest Total in Men’s T20s

An extraordinary match happened on Sunday. Spain has just trounced the Isle of Man with an astounding ten-wicket win in the men’s T20s. The hosts didn’t put a foot wrong as they stormed to victory with a whopping 118 balls remaining, leaving the visitors in their wake.

And if you thought that was impressive, get this: the Isle of Man was skittled out for a paltry 10 runs! That’s right, ten runs! And Spain broke a record while they were at it, with this being the lowest total in men’s T20s. They even beat the Sydney Thunder’s previous record of 15 all out in 5.5 overs against the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL earlier this year. Now that’s something to brag about!

What Happened in the Match

Mohammad Kamran and Atif Mehmood were the stars of the show, picking up an incredible four wickets each. They had three maidens and just ten runs between them in a collective eight-over spell. Kamran’s impressive performance even included a hat trick, proving that he is a force to be reckoned with. Lorne Burns followed in their footsteps to finish off the innings just four balls into the ninth over.

The hosts won the toss and chose to field, setting the tone early on as Kamran nicked off Adam McAuley off the very first ball. Mehmood was quick to follow suit, trapping George Burrows lbw. Kamran then picked up a hat trick by knocking over Luke Ward, Edward Beard, and Christian Webster in the very next over, reducing the score to a measly 5 for 4.

Mehmood then followed with a double-wicket over, including the top scorer of the innings, Joseph Burrows, who managed just four runs. Fraser Clarke’s duck was the fifth among the seven in total, but he managed to stretch the innings to the ninth over, where Burns’ clean-up job completed the innings.

Spain’s response was equally impressive, with Awais Ahmed starting strong with two boundaries in the very first two balls, thanks to Joseph’s no-ball. And just like that, the match was over in a flash, with Spain securing a remarkable win and a 5-0 sweep.

It’s safe to say that Spain’s cricket team is on fire right now, and their victory against the Isle of Man was nothing short of jaw-dropping.

Results of Loss for Isle of Man

The outstanding match was the last match in a recent T20 series between Spain and the Isle of Man. Spain won the T20 series 5-0. Before the T20 series against Isle of Man, Spain won their T20 series against Germany.

The Isle of Man, meanwhile, last participated in a T20 match in October.

Following their loss, they have toppled Turkey’s unwanted record set four years earlier when they were dismissed for a meager 21 against the Czech Republic in 2019.

This is not the first time that Isle of Man has struggled against the Spanish team, as their previous lowest score of 66 also came against Spain on February 25th, a day before being bowled out for just 10. It’s worth noting that Isle of Man has played 16 T20Is so far, winning eight and losing seven, with one game ending in no result.
