The excitement is building up as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) begins their preparatory camp for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. The team’s captain, MS Dhoni, is expected to train at either the MA Chidambaram Stadium or Chepauk Stadium in Chennai from the day itself.

Joining Dhoni will be other Indian players of the franchise, including Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu, as the team prepares for their first match against defending champions Gujarat Titans on March 31.
CSK CEO K S Viswanathan has confirmed that the Indian team members will be attending the camp, and fans are eager to see their favorite players back on the field, training hard for the upcoming season.
The franchise had added England Test captain Ben Stokes and New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson during the auction earlier this year. However, Jamieson could miss the tournament due to the recurrence of a back injury.

Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden, speaking to reporters after the announcement of the IPL 2023 schedule, talked about the reception MS Dhoni will receive when he walks onto the field at Chepauk after almost three years.
Hayden said, “It will be an amazing moment. I think last year, we were all under the impression that will MSD come back again. At the close of the IPL season, he made that huge comment to say that he would be back. What that means for all that Yellow Army is that Chennai suddenly galvanized a tad around the superior leader, who has done it for so long.”
“This will, most certainly, I think, be the close of his IPL career. So, those few games at the start are not only going to be key for the fans, his performance is going to be key for CSK this season.”

CSK sources have revealed that a replacement for Jamieson would be decided after consultations with Dhoni. With the IPL being one of the most-watched cricket leagues in the world, fans are eagerly anticipating the team’s final squad for the tournament.
CSK has been placed in Group B alongside Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Titans. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants have been placed in Group A.
