Suryakumar Yadav Will Play in Upcoming Ranji Trophy Season

Star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav is confirmed to play for Mumbai in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2022-23. It was reported on Monday that in-form T20I batter will be available in time for the second-round game against Hyderabad, which will be played at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Bandra-Kurla Complex on December 20.

Suryakumar will be part of a 17-member squad for Mumbai that includes Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tushar Deshpande. Led by Ajinkya Rahane, the Mumbai team are a part of Elite, Group E in the tournament.

So far, Suryakumar has shown a fantastic form this year in T20Is. He is the highest T20I run-scorer this year with 1,164 runs at an average of 46.56 and the best score of 117.

In addition to an impressive record in 31 T20I matches, Suryakumar has an overall first-class cricket record. In 77 matches and 129 innings, he has scored 5,326 runs at an average of 44.01. He has scored 14 centuries and 26 half-centuries, with the best individual score of 200.

The only downside to the batter’s record was in the ODI’s. He has scored only 260 runs in 13 ODIs this year at an average of 26.00 and just one half-century under his belt.

The Ranji Trophy 2022-23 will start on December 13 with the match between Haryana and Himachal Pradesh kickstarting the new season.
