The quarter finalists for the Qatar 2022 World Cup are set and fans can expect exciting matches from all teams. For Brazil, Argentina, France, and England, this will be a step closer to winning another World Cup. Should they make it to the semi-finals, Croatia, Portugal, Morocco, or Netherlands could land the chance at winning their first ever World Cup.
Brazil and Croatia will be the first to play in the quarterfinals on December 9 at the Education City Stadium. This will be the third time in Croatia’s history that they will be competing in a World Cup quarter final. In addition, Croatia has not lost a single match in this year’s World Cup. Brazil on the other hand, are one of the World Cup’s favourites with five prior World Cup wins. An intense match will be expected since the winner will be the first semi-finalist.
The next teams to go against each other are Netherlands and Argentina. They’ll be playing against each other at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Friday evening. So far, Netherlands has not lost a match in the entire 2022 World Cup. Argentina, on the other hand, have two previous World Cup wins. While Argentina lost their opener, they bounced back stronger with consecutive wins until they qualified for the quarterfinals. Whoever wins this match will be going against either Brazil or Croatia in the semi-finals.
The third quarterfinals will be taking place on Saturday at the Al Thumama Stadium. The teams to play that day are Morocco and Portugal. This will be the first time for both teams to have a chance at winning the World Cup. Between the two, Morocco has not lost one match in this year’s World Cup. Portugal on the other hand, demolished their way to the quarterfinals with a 6-1 win against South Korea. It’s anyone’s guess on who will win this match.
The final quarter finals match will be between England and France. France is currently the defending champion while England has previously won one World Cup. Between the two, England has not lost a match in this year’s World Cup. While France has lost once in the group stages, they have overwhelmed their other opponents, recently winning 3-1 against Poland to qualify in the quarter-finals. Should Morocco or Portugal win in the previous match, they will be going against England or France.
Do you think a former champion will make it through or will a new World Cup champion rise up?
