CSK Beats GT By 15 Runs and Moves to Finals
In an exciting match at Chepauk on Tuesday, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated the Gujarat Giants by 15 runs, securing their place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final for the tenth time. CSK, after being put into bat by Gujarat Giants’ captain Hardik Pandya, managed to reach a competitive total of 172 for 7 on a slow pitch in Qualifier 1.

The Gujarat Giants’ bowling attack put pressure on the CSK batsmen, with pacer Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma picking up two wickets each. Spinners Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed also chipped in with a wicket apiece, making scoring difficult for the CSK middle order.

Gaikwad received a stroke of luck when he was caught by Shubman Gill off Darshan Nalkande’s bowling, only for it to be declared a no-ball. Despite his slow-down in scoring rate, Gaikwad had outperformed his opening partner Devon Conway, with whom he shared another valuable half-century partnership.
Gaikwad eventually fell while attempting to accelerate, caught by David Miller off Mohit Sharma’s bowling. Ajinkya Rahane contributed a quick 17 off 10 balls before becoming Nalkande’s only scalp, leading to a deceleration in the scoring rate.
Ambati Rayudu’s cameo of 17 off 9 balls was significant, as he crossed the 6,000-run mark in the IPL during his innings. In the final three overs, CSK managed to collect 35 runs, which proved crucial in boosting their total.
