Mehidy Hasan Miraz Leads Bangladesh to Victory in the Second ODI

With a narrow five-run difference, Bangladesh wins the second ODI. This win is thanks to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who hit a memorable century and turned the tables around for the team.

Earlier in the game, India had Bangladesh on the mat at 69 for six but Miraz gave the team an amazing recovery with an epic 148-run partnership off 165 balls with Mahmudullah. It was the highest ever seventh-wicket stand against India.

To add to the amazing save, Miraz did a sweetly timed pick up shot, before reaching a three figure-mark in the final ball of the innings in the 50th over.

As a result of this series loss, India is forced to go back to the drawing board with the World Cup less than 12 months away.

In addition to India’s second successive series loss in Bangladesh, team captain Rohit Sharma sustained an injury that caused him to leave the field with a bloodied left-hand during the second over of the game.

It’s been recently reported that Sharma is unlikely to play in the remaining Test series and a replacement is being determined.
