In the Brazil VS Cameroon match last Friday, Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus was seen limping off the field. As of yesterday, Arsenal has confirmed that the player had undergone surgery on his right knee. In addition, Jesus released an Instagram photo of him posing with crutches.
‘Time to go home,’ Jesus wrote, with the forward adding that he would ‘be back stronger’.
There is no confirmation on when the player will return, but the North London club has reported that Jesus will begin a rehabilitation programme.
At this time, there are reports that Jesus could face up to three months on the side-lines, ruling him out of action until March. As such, it is likely that the player will miss Arsenal’s next 10 Premier League games
With Jesus’ status unconfirmed for now, Arsenal will need to look into getting a forward in the January transfer window, with Eddie Nketiah the sole alternative to Jesus after Alexandre Lacazette’s departure in the summer.
