Yashasvi Jaiswal’s meteoric rise in the ICC Test rankings has been nothing short of remarkable. The young Indian opener has been making waves with his consistent performances, and his latest achievements are a testament to his talent and dedication. Following his impressive scores of 57 and 38 in the drawn second Test against the West Indies in Port of Spain, Jaiswal has catapulted 11 places to 63rd in the list of top batters. His current tally of 466 points showcases his potential to become a force to be reckoned with in the cricketing world.

Meanwhile, India’s seasoned campaigner Rohit Sharma has also been making strides in the rankings. With scores of 80 and 57 in the second Test, Rohit has cemented his position as the highest-ranked Indian Test batter. He shares the ninth spot with Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunaratne, both accumulating an impressive 759 points. The Indian batting lineup boasts further star power with Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli ranked at 12th and 14th places, respectively. Although Pant has slipped one slot to 743 points, he remains a formidable force in the middle order, while Kohli’s steady performance ensures his continued presence among the top batters.

At the top of the batting rankings, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson continues to reign supreme with a commanding 883 rating points. The former top-ranked batters, Marnus Labuschagne of Australia and England’s Joe Root, have made impressive comebacks and now occupy the second and third positions, respectively, having progressed three places each.

As the batters have been making their mark, the bowlers too have been showcasing their prowess in the rankings. India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin retains his place at the top of the bowlers’ list with an impressive tally of 879 points. He continues to demonstrate his skill and experience, making him a formidable opponent for any batting lineup. Ashwin’s compatriot Ravindra Jadeja has also been moving up the ranks and currently holds the sixth position with 782 points, making him a valuable asset to the Indian bowling attack.

One bowler who has seen a significant upward movement in the rankings is pacer Mohammad Siraj. His impressive performances have propelled him six places up to the 33rd position, a clear indication of his growth and potential as a fast bowler for India.

The spinners, too, have had their moments to shine. Sri Lanka’s Prabath Jayasuriya’s stellar performance with a seven-wicket haul in Galle has propelled him to a career-best seventh position in the bowlers’ rankings. His spin partner, Ramesh Mendis, has also moved up one place to the 21st position after his six-wicket haul in the same match.

The England pacers have also made their presence felt in the rankings after the fourth Ashes Test. Zak Crawley’s impressive performance has seen him climb 13 places to reach the 35th position, while Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have also gained ground, occupying the 23rd and 31st spots, respectively.

In the all-rounders’ rankings, the Indian duo of Jadeja and Ashwin continues to dominate the top two spots, proof of their versatility and contribution to the team. Meanwhile, Axar Patel remains steady at the fifth position, further bolstering India’s all-round capabilities.
