South Africa and Zimbabwe Share Points Due to Rain

A rain induced game caused the South Africa and Zimbabwe Super 12 match to be called off. The rain reduced the game to nine overs per side and it ultimately turned into a washed out match with each team settling for a point each.

In nine overs, Zimbabwe scored 79/4 and set the Proteas a DLS target of 85. By the third over, South Africa were chasing down the target but the rain caused the game to be halted after the third over.

Some highlights from the rain-halted game that stood out were the batting of Zimbabwe’s Wesley Madhevere and South Africa’s De Kock. Madhevere sparked Zimbabwe to 79/4 after recording 35 runs in 18 balls recording one 6 and four 4s.

De Kock took his batting game to another level with 47 runs from 18 balls. He recorded one 6 and eight 4s before the game was ultimately called off. De Kock is one to definitely keep an eye out for the rest of the tournament.
