Max Verstappen celebrated a remarkable home victory at the chaotic Dutch Grand Prix, held in Zandvoort amidst heavy rain and disruptions. The win marked his ninth consecutive victory, matching Sebastian Vettel’s record. Fernando Alonso secured second place for Aston Martin, and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly completed the podium.

Verstappen, a double world champion with Red Bull, praised his team for handling the challenging weather conditions and thanked his passionate fans for their unwavering support. His victory, which was his third consecutive win from pole position on the Zandvoort track, extended his lead in the championship to 138 points ahead of his teammate, Sergio Perez, who finished fourth.

Red Bull’s dominance in difficult circumstances continued, extending their unbeaten run to 14 races. Despite the unpredictable weather, Verstappen exhibited his mastery of the Zandvoort circuit, bolstered by the enthusiastic crowd of 305,000 fans over the weekend.
At the start of the race, Verstappen defended his position against Lando Norris and maintained his lead into turn one, all while rain began to fall. A wave of pit stops ensued as teams switched from dry to soft tires due to changing conditions. Liam Lawson, a rookie replacing an injured Daniel Ricciardo, achieved a personal milestone by setting an early fastest lap in his debut Grand Prix.

Verstappen managed to regain the lead from Perez after pitting. However, a safety car was deployed after Logan Sargeant’s crash at turn eight, compressing the field. Verstappen took advantage of the restart to build a lead while closely monitored weather conditions.
