Shakib Al Hasan’s exceptional all-round performance steered his team, Galle Titans, to a dominant 83-run victory over B-Love Kandy in the thrilling Lanka Premier League (LPL) encounter held on Tuesday. The match showcased Shakib’s magic with both bat and ball, solidifying Galle’s position as strong contenders for the championship title.
Having already secured a super over win against Dambulla Giants in their season debut, Galle Titans were determined to assert their dominance further, leaving no doubts about their potential to clinch the LPL crown. Eventually, they succumbed to the pressure and fell well short of the target set by Galle Titans.
With this impressive victory, Galle Titans have surged to the top of the league table, accumulating 4 points from 2 matches. On the other hand, B-Love Kandy’s winless streak has landed them at the bottom, putting them under immense pressure to revive their campaign.
Both Galle Titans and B-Love Kandy will resume their LPL journey on Friday, 4th August. Galle will face off against Jaffna Kings, aiming to maintain their winning momentum and consolidate their position at the top of the table.
