On Tuesday, Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das stepped up for Surrey Jaguars with a brilliant performance, smashing his first Global T20 Canada fifty. This outstanding display came after underwhelming performances in the previous three matches. Thanks to Liton Das’s efforts, Surrey Jaguars secured a six-wicket victory over Brampton Wolves in Brampton.
The Jaguars put up a remarkable performance in the Global Twenty20 Canada, displaying their skill with both the ball and the bat to secure a comfortable six-wicket victory over the Brampton Wolves. Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the Jaguars’ decision paid off as their bowlers, led by the impressive Ammar Khalid, wreaked havoc on the Wolves’ top order.
Khalid struck early, dismissing Usman Khan and Aaron Johnson cheaply, leaving the Wolves struggling at 34/2 by the end of the powerplay. The pressure kept mounting on the Wolves as Hussain Talah and Mark Chapman departed without contributing significantly to the scorecard. Colin De Grandhomme, however, stood firm and fought hard to stabilize the innings with a valiant knock of 34 runs.
Unfortunately for the Wolves, wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, preventing them from building substantial partnerships. Nitish Kumar and Rizwan Cheema fell without making significant contributions, and De Grandhomme’s dismissal while trying to accelerate the run rate further dented their hopes. Eventually, the Wolves could only manage to post a modest total of 128/9 on the scoreboard.
In response, the Surrey Jaguars faced an early hiccup, losing key wickets within the powerplay. The opening trio of Mohammed Harris, Jatinder Singh, and Pargat Singh failed to capitalize on their opportunities, leaving the Jaguars in a spot of bother at 21/3. However, it was then that Litton Das and skipper Iftikhar Ahmed took control of the game with an outstanding partnership.
A Showcase of Talent: Rohit’s Standout Performances
Litton Das, determined to make amends for his previous outings, showcased his class with a brilliant knock of 59 runs off just 45 balls. He displayed an array of elegant shots and punished the loose deliveries, striking three fours and three sixes during his innings. Ahmed, on the other hand, played a captain’s knock, supporting Das well with a composed 38 runs off 41 deliveries.
Litton Das’ performance earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match award, recognizing his pivotal role in securing victory for the Surrey Jaguars. It was a much-needed boost for Litton, who had faced mixed fortunes with the bat in the tournament before this game.

Together, the pair added a crucial 99-run stand for the fourth wicket, steering the Jaguars to a dominant position in the chase. They kept the scoreboard ticking and pierced the gaps with ease, thwarting the Wolves’ attempts to mount a comeback. Despite Das’ dismissal, Ayaan Khan joined forces with skipper Ahmed to ensure a smooth finish to the match. The Jaguars reached the target with six wickets in hand and a comfortable 11 balls to spare, finishing at 132/4.
In the second encounter of the day, the Vancouver Knights displayed a dominant show as they secured a nine-wicket victory over the Montreal Tigers. Reuben Trumpelmann and Mohammad Rizwan were the heroes for the Knights, delivering match-winning performances to ensure a comfortable victory.
