Arjun Tendulkar Claims his First IPL Wicket
Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has made headlines for picking up his first-ever wicket in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Representing Mumbai Indians, the 23-year-old pacer bowled the decisive 20th over against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday, taking the wicket of Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the final ball of the match.
Interestingly, Bhuvneshwar had previously dismissed Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in a Ranji Trophy final, making Arjun’s wicket all the more significant.
With 20 runs to defend off the last over, Arjun showed great composure and skill by pitching the ball outside the right-handed batsman’s hitting arc. His tactics worked, as Abdul Samad fell short of his crease off the second ball, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar was dismissed off the fifth ball with Rohit Sharma taking a comfortable catch at cover.
This is not the first time that Arjun has played for Mumbai Indians. He has been part of the squad for the past three years and has been honing his skills under the guidance of his father and other experienced cricketers.
Arjun made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 16, where he bowled two overs, conceding 15 runs and taking one wicket. With his impressive performances in both games, Arjun is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in the IPL.

Arjun Tendulkar took his first wicket, but Mumbai Indians had another player who helped them win. Cameron Green scored 64 runs without getting out. He batted after Rohit Sharma was dismissed and made 46 runs with Ishan Kishan.
Aiden Markram caught Green, ending his innings. Green’s batting helped Mumbai Indians score a total of 192-5 in 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed soon after, but Green, with the help of Tilak Varma, played well to put Mumbai Indians in control.
Sunrisers Hyderabad struggled to start and lost Harry Brook and Rahul Tripathi early. Mayank Agarwal fought well, but he fell after scoring 48 runs. Before Tendulkar’s impressive bowling, Green was Mumbai’s top performer with both bat and ball.
He also took the important wicket of Sunrisers captain Markram for 22 runs. Overall, it was a great win for Mumbai Indians, and Tendulkar’s final over showed that he is a talented player to watch out for.

Following the match, Arjun was ecstatic about his performance and credited his father for his success. “We talked about cricket, discussed tactics before the game and he tells me to back what I practice every game,” Arjun said in a post-match interview. “I just focused on my release, bowling good lengths and lines up front.”
The Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma, was all praises for the young pacer and commended his confidence and ability to execute plans. “It’s quite exciting to play with Arjun. Life has come full circle. Arjun has been part of the squad for the last three years. He understands what he wants to do, and he is quite confident he can do it,” said Sharma.
